Postcode Database and Maps is add-on software that integrates with the EPOS software and allows the operator to add addresses of a customer by just asking the Postcode and House number/name. Maps section of this software display customer location on the map. It is used to check the directions and locations of single or multiple customers for delivery drivers to efficiently plan their route and store staff can prepare delivery orders for the customers in same direction/area. This optional software helps to eliminate mistakes while taking customer address and increases efficiency by clustering deliveries to the same area using same driver and avoiding costly overlaps.
Barcode scanners are mostly used in a retail environment. They are used to scan product barcodes instead of manually entering the product details. There are mainly two types of barcode scanners.
barcode scanners are the most familiar. Common 1D barcodes found on grocery and consumer items are linear codes that use variable-width lines and spaces to encode the data. These barcodes hold a limited number of digits or characters; in order to add more digits or numbers, the barcode itself has to be longer.
2D barcodes are used to mark very small items where the traditional 1D barcode label won’t fit. 2D barcodes use a matrix pattern to encode the required data and or links. The 2D patterns of squares, dots, hexagons including other shapes can be smaller than linear bar 1D codes but hold significantly higher data (1,000’s of characters) because the information is encoded in both the horizontal and vertical (X&Y axis) dimensions of the 2D barcode pattern.
